Yay for Merit Grinding!

So now that i'm done with sky for now on Zerayla, I have a lot of extra time on my hands and have been able to be available for more LS events for SpiritOfTheWolf. I think I might try sky sometime in the future again, but I know that it'll be hard finding a shell because the one thing I learned this last year is that its really hard to "enjoy" sky unless you fit in with the group of people you're with.

After posting a goodbye on my sky LS forum and only getting a response from the leader after a week, I pretty much concluded that the majority of the members could care less about me other than the fact that I came up every run as WHM, allowing some of them to come as more "fun" jobs. Oh well... I'm spending more time with my social shell members and having a blast just lvling up jobs and working on my alternate character Kaelyth.

So yeah, speaking of Kaelyth... I've managed to get him to MNK45 with my LS static that I do every wednesday. Unfortunately one of our members decided to bow out of the static because he had some RL commitments come up that would make him an hour late, but I think many of us in the static are starting to miss him and probably wouldn't have minded starting our static later to accomodate him. :(

I've also started another mini-ls static which doesn't really have any set schedule. I'm trying to get my NIN subjob to 37 on Kaelyth, and i'm currently at 27. The static isn't really a great one, but all the people involved are trying to lvl a subjob so we're making do. We have 2 NIN and 2 DNC, so its a pretty interesting combination. Sometimes we'll party with 4 people, other times we'll invite 2 more people... it just depends on the mobs and camp we chose. Its pretty fun for the most part =)

Here are a couple of LOL moments on Kaelyth this last week:

Soulstar decided to aggro everything in Valkurm Dunes when he came to visit me as I waited for a party on my NIN.

I've also managed to do a few quests here and there on him to make money. I've quested some teleport spells, as well as retrace. Gawd that spell is annoying to quest. It has so much running around!

As for Zerayla, I haven't been playing her too much but I did manage to finally finish the merits on my BLM! Here's my merit setup on her BLM:

• Ice Potency 5/5
• Thunder Potency 5/5
• Burst II Potency 5/5
• Freeze II Potency 5/5

The only sad part about all this, is that i've only managed to get her on BLM for one endgame event recently. I've been wanting to practice endgame BLM more, to get a feel for how the nuking and stunning works but I never seem to find any opportunites. Damn WHM.... -_-;


Next up i'm hoping to finish meriting my PLD. I don't get to play that job too often (lol go figure) but it'll always be my favorite job and so I feel like I owe it to myself to complete it. I've just finished getting 5/5 on Chivalry today, and hopefully i'll be able to get 5/5 on Iron Will. (I think that's the one I need, that helps with Sentinel?) Then it'll be lolwhm. I don't really like the job too much unless i'm fighting challenging mobs, but considering I use it so often I really should have it fully meritted.

I also finally got my clothcraft to 60! Turns out the last 4 lvls weren't really all that difficult, because I just crafted a bunch of green ribbons which I could NPC for ~2k. I had a ton of silk cloth I had saved up, and I think I only had to spend about 40k extra to buy the rest of my materials to get from 59-60.

Now I just need to work on Leathercraft > Smithing > Goldsmithing > Bonecraft > Fishing. One day I will have them all at 60! I'm just dreading when I get to Goldsmithing, I know that's going to cost me ><;;; The only other accomplishment i've made recently is that i've done non-stop farming during weekdays when i'm not lvling. I've been able to save up enough to get Kaelyth some cross-counters when he reaches 50, though i'm waiting to buy them. I'm hoping the price will drop a little, I still have 5 more lvls to go. I'm really going to be happy when i'm able to sell the cross-counters, Emperor Hairpin and Ochiudo's Kote i've invested in. I intend to camp the rare/ex version of the hairpin and kote when Kaelyth is high enough to solo the NMs. Hello there mr. gilz!

That about covers all I can think to put in this update. Oh... but... CAITSITH! (Did the cutscenes again when I went through the maw on Kaelyth)
